5 Things I Want To Achieve This Year.

Image
In my last blog update, I talked about starting the new year and changing Old habits in my last update  here  and I also highlighted one major old habit that I wanted to change and so far so good I can reward myself for keeping up to the task. Tanto Olalekun who is a lifestyle blogger inspired me to make this post, from the onset i felt I would be letting out too much but then it's a lifestyle blog and it won't be one if i don't share.  Visit the blog  to view her blog posts. So I'd like to share with you 5things I want to achieve this year. I know some persons don't believe in making new year resolutions but I do, I mean, after all, we've been through in the last year being intentional about what we do with our lives and time in this year 2021 is paramount. Making resolutions has to do with setting goals but that's just a mile away from the realization of these goals. If we decide that we want to be intentional about our choices this year bringing our goals

Starting the new year// Changing old habits

 Starting the new year The beginning of the year is always full of expectations of how to start the new year. What choices to make or not to make, what actions to take on certain things. Writing down goals you plan on achieving in the new year is a way to start the year and working towards making your goals a reality, you have to take decisions  that bring you closer to those goals each day. Some people fast and pray into the year. Usually you start of the new year on a good note, excited about the year and what it holds, uncertain of how plans will go we just dive in anyway.  The beginning of the new year is another opportunity to right all the wrongs you did the last year and take a firm stand.  Like John C. Maxwell said The ability to put past events behind you and move on, positions a person to tackle current challenges with enthusiasm and a minimum of burdensome personal baggage. When starting the year 2021 it is necessary to put behind you all the mistakes and errors made in the

The End Of A New Beginning

Image
Towards the end of every year we all take time to think about how the year went, what we did and didn't do, what we are grateful for and lessons we wouldn't want to repeat. The last months of the year should be a time to replan on how the next year will look like and most importantly pray into the new year.  2020 for me is the end of a new beginning because we made plans some didn't work out , it took most of us by surprise and disorganised alot of things but then there's alot the year has brought both good and bad, bad because Covid19 ravaged countries and took lives and left others on home arrest. Lockdown is a thing I've never experienced in all my life time, bad because we lost loved ones bad because expectations were cut short.  Good because we learnt to cherish what we have more, we understood the most important things of life, good because despite all the bads there was so much to celebrate for, we learnt to count our blessings we learnt to cherish every waki

Taking Out Old Stuff

 Taking Out Old Stuff Old stuff day It's funny how a single book or paper brings back alot of memories. In these few weeks into the month of december I and my sister decided to re-organize our room and take out old stuff we didn't need that just occupied space, it was more of books by the way, textbooks, note books, novels, and magazines etc. Alot of books were discovered real old books that dated back as at 2008, 2012, etc. I recall my sister saying "you have so many books'' well when you've schooled for 4years you should have quite a library you know, was my responseπŸ˜‰ We took out time to pick out the books one after the other in other to place them correctly and I saw books dated back to my Senior secondary years in school and for my sister as far back as junior high I had a habit of writing things at the back of my notes same did my sister, we laughed at the silly things we wrote, tittle of books I had written down to read that I never read, I enjoyed readi

WRITTEN GOALS YET TO BE ACHIEVED

Image
Someone once told me I was a goal getter, but I never truly realized until it was said to me. Before I dived into art I've always loved everything about music, close friends know I like to sing alot. 😁 being a vocalist and playing a musical instrument has always been my dream especially these three; the violin, the piano and the guitar.  As a child I always dreamt off playing the violin, I really do love the violin it still remains my best musical instrument (I think i have a thing for string instruments) πŸ˜‰ but then everything doesn't always work out they way you'd think they would.  Not too long ago I found one of my old books full of goals and things I wanted to achieve not necessarily a diary, I just don't like the idea of keeping dairies I mean  someone could find out all your lives secrets by looking through a book. 🀷 And in this old book i saw the reoccurrence of most of the things I had written out as goals and things I wanted to acquire which are still linger

The Beauty In Lines

The BEAUTY IN LINES A pencil portrait Art for me particularly drawing and painting have become evolving moments for me, at every stage and height I reach I tend to amaze myself I've always loved humble beginnings and this growth I'll keep track of  because to me it's like a journey, it's like a new door open to a path way to my creative outburst! This was my first commissioned work 😁 it took me quite some days to finish though, well i'm a beginner so what do you expect?. 🀷   Leonardo da Vinci said, "Art is never finished, only abandoned."  This is a true definition of an abandoned work because I was trying to meet the deadline. 😊 There was a tape playing in my head in the process of this drawing, most of the time I decline portrait works because alot is expected from you in trying to create a close to perfect masterpiece  and for me I don't feel confident enough yet but in the process of this particular portrait I couldn't help but admire the b

Job Hunting|| Life After School

Image
  I never thought I'd someday have to talk about job hunting. 😁 Back in school we all thought that acquiring good grades and putting in our best in our academic work would assure us  good jobs you know. πŸ€” All the toiling day and night it's old story now... Though for some persons it did workout. While some other persons started their job hunting before and during the NYSC scheme. Some got lucky to get good Jobs, others didn't and some others didn't even bother searching.  Finishing from school now and facing the stings of reality has actually made alot of difference. You get to learn that sometimes life doesn't always workout as planned and that unemployment is truly a great concern in our society. You begin to understand the importance of Independence in every aspect of Adulthood (i'm talking about financial, having your Own Space kind of Independence etc.).  Staying at home everyday trying to be hopeful, sifting through job search websites, applying online t
